Gran Premio Asociación Latinoamericana de Jockey Clubes e Hipódromos

The Gran Premio Asociación Latinoamericana de Jockey Clubes e Hipódromos, currently known as the Longines Gran Premio Latinoamericano due to sponsorship reasons, is a horse-race for thoroughbreds of the countries which are members of the Asociación Latinoamericana de Jockey Clubes e Hipódromos. The race is contested by thoroughbred horses which are 3 years old or more (3yo+). It is South America’s most important weight-for-age race.〔(ThoroughbredTimes )〕
The race is usually held in a host track which is announced in advance, being responsible for the organization of that year's race. The distance varies between the 2,000 meters ( mile, 10 furlongs) usually run and the 2,100 meters ( mile, 10,5 furlongs) ran at the Argentine tracks of La Plata and Palermo, while being only once ran into 2,200 meters ( mile, 11 furlongs) at Monterrico in 1987. Track surface and hand also are variable (with Chile's Club Hípico de Santiago being the only right-handed track to ever host the race).
